The tax assessor is in a unique position to help the public understand key land use, economic development, and public finance issues. The assessor distributes funding for the School Board, for the Sheriff, for levee protection and stormwater management, for parks and libraries—in short, for all key city services.

Qualifications

    We are seeking a candidate who possesses a strong understanding of property valuation, financial analysis, and public finance. The ideal candidate should have a background in economics, real estate, or a related field, along with a commitment to serving the public interest.
