The tax assessor is in a unique position to help the public understand key land use, economic development, and public finance issues. The assessor distributes funding for the School Board, for the Sheriff, for levee protection and stormwater management, for parks and libraries—in short, for all key city services.

What You'll Do

    As the tax assessor, you will play a critical role in assessing and distributing funds for key city services. You will analyze land use, economic development, and public finance issues to ensure fair and accurate assessments.
    You will also be responsible for collaborating with various city departments to understand their funding needs and ensure equitable distribution of resources.

Who You Are

    We are seeking a dedicated individual with a strong understanding of land use, property assessment, and public finance. Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex information to the public and city officials are essential.
    Experience in property assessment, finance, or a related field is preferred. A commitment to fairness, transparency, and public service is a must.
